People attend our Eden Energy Medicine trainings for several reasons. Half of the people who come to our training programs are there for purely personal reasons. They realize that the methods being taught can help them and their loved ones with healing to optimize well-being, good mood, and peak performance. Or they recognize that working with the body’s energies can be a pathway to personal and spiritual development.

The other half are usually in the healing or mental health professions, or work in some other context where they can apply energy medicine. These include business, education, sports, and government.

Many people in both camps take a basic training (a weekend event or our longer 5-day Basic Training) and never take any further studies in Eden Energy Medicine; they gain a solid foundation in energy medicine that they can use for the rest of their lives. But a significant (and growing) proportion of our students go on for further training. Given the complexity of the human body and the range of applications, there is a great deal to learn. We have no doubt that energy medicine will one day be an advanced degree program within medical schools.

However, our teaching goals at Innersource are less lofty than having our work taught in medical schools. Rather, we would like to make our energy medicine methods as available as possible to as many people as possible with as little bureaucracy as possible. For people who want to use energy medicine or even become Energy Medicine Practitioners, we have several options.

For people who want to study the work in the comfort of their own homes at their own speed, we have taught the building block classes, videotaped them, and developed them into home study courses so they can be widely available. A sequence of steps for mastering the knowledge base required for working with energy medicine is laid out in our Home Study Program.

For people who want a more systematic and live teaching experience, our Two-Year Certification Program and subsequent advanced study are more formal, and we maintain very high standards as our students discover the great joy and gratification of becoming Energy Medicine Practitioners.

It is important to note that "Energy Medicine" is still a professionally ambiguous term. Most states do not yet license Energy Medicine practitioners, so the path is not well-traveled. Many of the people who have trained with us are already licensed health care professionals in an established area such as massage, nursing, or medicine. All have a pioneering spirit and many have a deep sense of calling. This path is not for everyone, but it is proving to be extraordinarily gratifying for those who have entered it.

What we can predict based on the trends we are observing (such as the increasing prestige of the invitations coming our way, the prominence of people taking our classes, and the number of professionals who are formally identifying themselves as using energy interventions), is that people with a solid foundation in energy medicine will probably be in considerable demand five years from now. If you read the paper, Six Pillars of Energy Medicine, you will get a clear sense of just how perceptive Norm Shealy was in saying that "Energy Medicine is the future of medicine."

You might give this some consideration if you are re-thinking your professional future and are drawn toward Eden Energy Medicine. The sequence would be 1) an introductory evening or weekend course or some home study with the book Energy Medicine and Donna’s introductory DVDs, then 2) an Energy Medicine 5-Day Basic Training workshop, and then 3) the Certification Program.

And regardless of which course of action you take, from the first class on, you will be learning techniques you can immediately apply for increased health, vitality, and well-being.
