TEEM Foundations
Those students who successfully complete both the class and mentorship portions of TEEM 101 are eligible to take the TEEM Foundations training. Graduates of the TEEM Foundations training are able to establish EEMCP Foundations Year classes anywhere in the world and will also be considered candidates for EEMCP faculty positions.
The TEEM Foundations training is a five-day class that will be held November 15-19, 2012, at the Wigwam resort in Phoenix, AZ. This class builds on the tools and techniques learned during the TEEM 101 training and will focus on the skills and knowledge needed to teach 100+ hours of Eden Energy Medicine per year to a diverse group of students.
The faculty for the TEEM Foundations class are all highly-rated, senior teachers from the EEMCP. They are also experienced Foundation class teachers, so they bring a wealth of knowledge to this training.
The five-day TEEM Foundations class will provide the tools and techniques necessary to teach the advanced-level topics covered in the first year of the EEM Certification Program: the Foundations Year. You will learn how to teach effectively to different elements and sensory styles, ways to insure that everyone's energy stays up during long class hours, and the best approach for keeping students motivated across a year of classes.
During the TEEM Foundations training, the ability to multitask and excel as a teacher, trainer, and business person will be stressed. Whether your goal is to teach one or more Foundations Year classes per year, the TEEM Foundations training can help you learn:
- The use of voice and body language to hold audience attention
- Techniques to keep four days of classes interesting for your students
- Hints for hiring and working with teaching assistants
- Using PowerPoint or handouts with confidence and conviction
- To respond well under pressure and breeze through Q&A sessions while remaining calm, cool, and collected
- Ways to manage energetic problems that arise in your classes
- Time management techniques
- Tips for keeping your students on track with their homework
- How to work closely with Innersource as a partner
The goal of the TEEM Foundations training is to help prepare you for the rigors involved in running and teaching a five-day class of detailed material four times a year. The EEM faculty and Foundations teachers involved in this training will help you gain the experience and knowledge you need to run highly successful Foundations classes.
After the five-day TEEM Foundations class, you will be required to serve as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in four sequential classes of an established Foundations Year. There you will gain on-site experience with the class material and witness the way seasoned Foundations teachers handle the myriad of details necessary to run a successful program. During this TA year, you will also focus on the details involved in the complex relationship between the teacher and Innersource. While you are a Foundations TA, your TEEM Foundations mentor will also be available to answer questions as they arise and advise you on how to begin the process of setting up your own Foundations Year classes.
Once you have successfully completed your year as a TA at four Foundations Year classes, and worked with the administrative mentor for one Foundations class, your mentor will write a Letter of Recommendation for you and you will officially be a TEEM Foundations graduate. As a graduate of the TEEM Foundations training, will be able to teach and promote official EEMCP Foundations Year classes and list those classes on the Innersource website.
