The Eden Energy Medicine One-Year Clinical Practicum

Program Content

New EEM material will naturally arise during the course of the demonstrations and be discussed during the Q & A.  The usual lectures and handouts associated with Year 1 & 2 of the Certification Program are not planned to be part of the Clinical Practicum.

DEVELOPING PROFICIENCY:

The intent of the Clinical Practicum is to develop proficiency in EEM.  Proficiency is defined as knowing how to:

  • work with changing energies
  • move seamlessly from one energy system to the next
  • find a balance between your intuition and the proper use of energy testing
  • follow a hunch to a positive outcome
  • build on strengths even when focusing on areas that need to be corrected.
    • use and integrate a broad range of EEM methods
    • be able to drop beneath the techniques, deeply engaging clients and their energy systems

AFTER- CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

An essential ingredient in developing proficiency is lots of practice. We recommend that in addition to the 100 required documented sessions over the year, students try to do four sessions a week over the course of their Clinical Practicum.

The 100 sessions will be documented using the Practicum Session Form and should be at least 60 minutes each with Eden Energy Medicine being the primary method used 80% or more of the time.

It is important to follow the below schedule in completing the 100 sessions.

Time Period
# of Sessions to Turn In
August 1-October 31 30
November 1-January 31 20
February 1- April 30 25
May 1- July 31 25
TOTAL 100

If you do not have an established practice where you can easily do two EEM sessions per week, we highly recommend you find “sponsors” during your Clinical Practicum. These are individuals who are willing to receive several EEM sessions as part of your training and if appropriate, offer them a rate that is very easy for them to pay. They have the opportunity to receive regular sessions, help sponsor your training, and participate in bringing EEM to their community.

Faculty mentors create space in their schedule to review these sessions so if not turned in on time become a problem in their own time management. To compensate them for this a $75 fee per week will be due for every week you miss the above deadlines.

The summarized sessions should be sent to the faculty mentor who observed you during the previous class. The mentors will be reviewing the forms for completion and will give feedback on only those sessions you request. That feedback will be part of the four hours of consultation (i.e., two hours with each mentor) you have for the year. The four hours of consultation include either phone, in person, email, or Skype conversations. Additional time may be arranged between you and the faculty mentor at the rate of $100 per hour.

Six of those 100 Practicum Session Forms can be a summary of either a Skype or live session with the faculty mentor. Three of the live/Skype sessions will be completed after each class. Each of these sessions should be about 60 minutes in duration. No video demonstrations will be accepted. The three live/Skype sessions and two hours of consultation must be completed with the faculty mentor from your last class so there is continuity in the mentoring process.

Time Period # of Live/Skype
Sessions
# of Hrs of
Consultation

# of DVDs
to Watch

August 1- January 15 3 2 2
February 1- July 15 3 2 2
TOTAL 6 4 4

There is a $75/week fee payable to your mentor for every week that the deadlines for not completing your live/Skype sessions are not met.

There are four EEM sessions on DVD to watch and questions to be answered based on your observation. Two of these must be completed and turned in by January 15th and the other two by July 15th. There is also a $75/week fee payable to your mentor for every week that these deadlines are not met.

CLINICAL PRACTICUM PROJECT:

An integral part of the Clinical Practicum is for all participants to complete a Clinical Practicum Project. EEM practitioners have and are continually cultivating a wealth of experiences that are invaluable to the rest of the community. The Practicum Project is an opportunity to capture some of the pearls of this wisdom and make them available to others.

This project encourages practitioners to follow their interests in creating projects that deepen their experience in that area and to write a brief report that shares their wisdom with others. The scope of these projects will vary greatly depending upon practitioner interests and the nature of the projects. We want this to be an experience filled with discovery and excitement, and a wide range of topics could serve that purpose.

The title of your Practicum Project will be part of your listing on the website and will be a way of indicating a special inclination or specialty area. Anyone visiting our website, including prospective clients, will be able to receive your Practicum Project summary by contacting you.

The following ideas are intended to spark your own creative process:

  • Develop an energy medicine project in your community (e.g. demonstrating how energy methods could be used in the schools, the workplace, a local hospital or medical practice, a prison, a shelter). Report on what was discovered in the process.
  • Write a paper on the use of EEM for a particular condition (based on interviewing practitioners, your own experience, literature about the condition, etc.).
  • Explore the relationship between two or more EEM systems.
  • Describe how you started a study group or class and the special insights and understanding that came from the process and members of the group.
  • Compare and contrast how other EM modalities approach one of the 9 EEM systems. For example, compare and contrast the way EEM works with the chakras with Barbara Brennan’s approach or the methods used in traditional Indian spiritual practices.
  • Identify one of the legal or professional challenges in developing an EEM practice and develop and/or implement a plan for addressing that challenge.
  • Track a client over a year that has a chronic condition, document the shifts in energy and symptoms, the EEM methods that were used, and summarize what you learned about working with that condition.

One-Page Proposal:

A one-page (maximum) proposal must be submitted within two months after your first class, October 1st at the latest. Send or email it to your faculty mentor, from the first class. It should include:

  • Your contact information
  • Title
  • One paragraph abstract
  • Outline of the Project
  • Expected benefits to you and others

Final Summary:

The final summary, which must be 3-5 pages, must be submitted by July 1st. Please use the following format in writing up the summary.

  • Your Contact Information
    • Name, Address, Phone #, e-mail
  • Title of the Project
  • Brief Description
    • Maximum of 70 words
  • Complete Description of the Project
    • Reason for the Project
    • Your Plan
    • What Did You Actually Do
    • Results
    • Insights Gained
    • Suggestions for the Community

The Title and Brief Description will be posted as part of your website listing with Innersource as a way of indicating a special inclination or specialty area. Anyone visiting our website, including prospective clients, will be able to receive your Practicum Project summary by contacting you. Please be mindful to maintain confidentiality of any client involved in the project and to have permission from any participating organizations to credit them in the summary that will be disseminated to those who request it.

Practicum Project Timeline:

Time Period Proposal Due
Complete Summary Due
October 1st X
July 1st X

A $75/week late fee must be paid to your mentor for every week past the deadline.

OTHER BENEFITS:

Graduates of the Clinical Practicum will have the opportunity to attend other Clinical Practicum classes at ½ the reduced tuition. Such participants will be able to watch demonstration sessions and receive feedback while giving sessions, with no between class requirements. The intention is to provide an environment where students can continue to deepen their work.

The hours spent in class during the Clinical Practicum count towards the Continuing Education requirements needed to maintain your EEM certification. If you audit the Practicum after graduation, these hours also count toward your Continuing Education.
