Changes to the First Edition of Energy Medicine

CHANGES IN PAPERBACK EDITION

Given the complexity of Energy Medicine, we were pleased that when the paperback came out a year after the hardcover there were so few changes we wished to make. Certainly, the resources pages needed to be updated, but we are continually updating that information on the "Practitioners and Links" section of this website. The three substantial changes were actually three additions we wished to have included in the paperback. These changes are in the paperback edition. For those of you who own the hardcover, feel free to print these out to supplement your book.

The first is a table that makes it easy to find the "How-to" topics that are scattered throughout the book. The second is another energy test that can be performed without a partner. While this "human pendulum test" is still experimental, we have worked with it enough now with favorable results to feel it is responsible to introduce it to you. The third is a technique for improving memory that, ironically, was forgotten in the first edition.

Thank you for being one of the first to purchase Energy Medicine. We hope you find the following to be useful supplements.

ENERGY TESTING WITHOUT A PARTNER

The following description of the "human pendulum test" was inserted into the last full paragraph of page 52: Numerous other ways for energy testing without a partner have been devised. Because most of them require the person to simultaneously exert and resist pressure, to be both the tester and the tested, it is very difficult to assure an unbiased result unless the person is highly experienced. A method I am experimenting with is called the "human pendulum," where you place the item being tested at your stomach while you are standing, holding it evenly with both hands. Become still, centered, take a deep breath, and let go. If after a few moments you feel yourself pulled toward the item, that is, falling forward, it indicates that the item was in harmony with your energies. If you find yourself falling backward, away from the substance being tested, it indicates that the item was in conflict with your energies. In this test, you need to be particularly careful about your wishes or preconceived ideas influencing the results, and the instructions for "fine-tuning your energy-testing abilities" with a partner, beginning page 56, can be adapted for this test as well.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR MEMORY SHARP

(inserted on page 208, replacing an exercise that was inadvertently presented twice)

For your memory to stay intact over the years, it is necessary for energies to flow freely through the suture lines in your skull. While these junctures tend to become less flexible with age, a simple procedure that will take about a minute each day can keep oxygen and cerebral-spinal fluids, as well as subtle energies, moving through them:

1. Place your left hand over your heart and your right hand on the right side of your head, palm next to your right ear, fingers extended upward over your head.

2. Breathe deeply four times while holding this position--in through the nose, out through the mouth. Raise your body with the in-breath, relax it with the outbreath.

3. Move your right hand to the back of your head, and repeat the breathing.

4. Now place your right hand over the right side of your chest, your left hand by your left ear, and repeat the breathing.

5. Finally, place the palm of your left hand on your forehead with your fingers going up onto the top of your head and again use the same breathing.

Do this daily, perhaps when you first sit down at your desk, computer, or TV, or while you are warming up your car, and you will not only be helping to retain your memory, you will be maximizing its effectiveness.
